Turn to God

Every week I keep reading more and more about the drug problems in our country. It's in the news all the time. People are addicted and sometimes may not know why they even take the drugs to start with. They pay huge amounts of money like $40.00 for one pill. If some took one pill a day for one month that would be 30 X $40 which equals $1200.00 per month. No wonder people are homeless and broke. They are slaves to a pill. These articles talk about putting regulations on drug companies, doctors, and drug providers. But then they turn around and open more suboxone clinics and other drug distribution points. Our society is drugged up. The real problem is a spiritual problem. People are resorting to drugs instead of God. They are leaving God out of their lives and they are suffering because of this. The Bible teaches us that if we will humble ourselves and turn from our sin and pray to God that He will help us. We can't expect God's blessing if we don't turn from our sins. He is a Holy God and will hold us accountable for drug abuse and sin. Drug abuse is sin and the answer is to repent, turn away from drug abuse, and seek God's help. God will help us when we turn from our sins and seek Him.

The Hollies, Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress. 1972 HD (audio HQ)

"Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress" (also called "Long Cool Woman" or "Long Cool Woman (in a Black Dress)") is a song written by Allan Clarke, Roger Cook, and Roger Greenaway and performed by the British rock group The Hollies. Originally appearing on the album Distant Light, it was released as a single in April 1972 (on Parlophone in the United Kingdom), selling 1.5 million copies in the United States and two million worldwide. It reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1972. Billboard ranked it as the No. 24 song for 1972.
On the day "Long Cool Woman" was recorded at AIR Studios, the group's producer, Ron Richards, was ill and, as a result, the song was produced by the group. The song is different from most Hollies songs in that there are no three-part vocal harmonies, and the song features lead guitar and leads vocal work by Allan Clarke. Upon his return, Ron Richards mixed the recording.
The song was written in the swamp rock style of Creedence Clearwater Revival, in terms of the vocal, rhythm, and melodic style. It came out in the spring of 1972 (the same year Creedence split up). Clarke imitated John Fogerty's vocal style, which was based on the Creedence song "Green River". According to Clarke, the song was written "in about five minutes". When the song made its mark in America, Clarke had already left the band, but Clarke feels that "it wasn't unfortunate", since he had co-written the song. Clarke rejoined the Hollies in the summer of 1973, partly due to the success of this song.

Exodus 10:9 celebration

The older people were to instruct them how to sacrifice and as they were the heads of each family they were to perform it; the young were to go so they would be trained and accustomed to religious services.
It was a solemn feast in which every age and sex were to partake.
They were to take all their livestock with them because they did not know which were to be sacrificed and which were to be used to serve the Lord until they came to the place they were to offer the sacrifice (Exodus 10:26).
The feast required all to be present (old, young, men, women and children). Moses made it perfectly clear to Pharoah who was to go. National celebrations were attended by everyone.

Jesus ancestors

Matthew 1:5 " Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab,
Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth,
Obed the father of Jesse, We should recognize that Jesus was descended in the flesh from Boaz (a Jewish man) and Ruth, a Moabite (a Gentile). This actually makes Jesus both Jew and Gentile

Surgery

Acharya Sushruta – Cataract Surgery and Plastic Surgery
Cataract surgery and plastic surgery were also first performed by the ancient physician Sushruta. He used a curved needle and removed the cataract by pushing the lens.
The eyes were then immersed in warm butter and were properly covered until they were completely healed. Usage of anesthesia was also well known in ancient India. People from far off countries came to India to seek treatment.
Born to sage Vishwamitra, Sushruta is the father of surgery. 2600 years ago, he along with the health scientists of his time conducted complicated surgeries like artificial limbs, cesareans, cataract, Rhinoplasty (restoration of a damaged nose), urinary stones, and 6 types of dislocations, 12 types of fractures, plastic surgery and even brain surgery. He is the author of the book “Sushruta Samhita”, in which he describes over 300 surgical procedures and 125 surgical instruments. Sushruta’s work was later translated into Arabic language and gradually passed on to European countries.
