Turn to God

Every week I keep reading more and more about the drug problems in our country. It's in the news all the time. People are addicted and sometimes may not know why they even take the drugs to start with. They pay huge amounts of money like $40.00 for one pill. If some took one pill a day for one month that would be 30 X $40 which equals $1200.00 per month. No wonder people are homeless and broke. They are slaves to a pill. These articles talk about putting regulations on drug companies, doctors, and drug providers. But then they turn around and open more suboxone clinics and other drug distribution points. Our society is drugged up. The real problem is a spiritual problem. People are resorting to drugs instead of God. They are leaving God out of their lives and they are suffering because of this. The Bible teaches us that if we will humble ourselves and turn from our sin and pray to God that He will help us. We can't expect God's blessing if we don't turn from our sins. He is a Holy God and will hold us accountable for drug abuse and sin. Drug abuse is sin and the answer is to repent, turn away from drug abuse, and seek God's help. God will help us when we turn from our sins and seek Him.
