History of Democrats and KKK

Chile

P.T. Barnum made a name for himself by exhibiting humans who were suffering from rare genetic conditions. What’s more, over the years this bizarre trend grew in popularity. Indeed, by the 1870s it was common for people in many Western nations to gather and ogle humans of other races from around the world. These are the Selk Nam people of Chile. A tribe now believed to be extinct.

THE MIND OF CHRIST
I heard once about a man who went to the doctor after weeks of symptoms. The doctor examined him carefully, then called the patient's wife privately into his office. He said to her, "Your husband is suffering from a rare form of anemia. Without treatment, he'll be dead in a few weeks. The good news is, it can be treated with proper nutrition."
"You will need to get up early every morning and fix your husband a hot breakfast—pancakes, bacon and eggs, the works. He'll need a home-cooked lunch every day, and then an old-fashioned meat-and-potato dinner every evening. It would be especially helpful if you could bake frequently. Cakes, pies, homemade bread—these are the things that will allow your husband to live.
"One more thing. His immune system is weak, so it's important that your home be kept spotless at all times. I can't impress upon you just how important this is. If you don't do these things, your husband is going to die. Do you have any questions?" The wife said, "No."
The doctor said, "Do you want to break the news to him, or shall I?" The wife said, "I'll do it."
She walked back into the examination room. Her husband, sensing the seriousness of his illness, said to her, "It's bad, isn't it?" She nodded, tears welled up in her eyes. He asked her, "What's going to happen to me?"
And, with a sob, his wife blurted out, "The doctor says you're gonna die!"
While I would like to think that those of us who are husbands and wives would be willing to serve our mates in a situation like that, the truth of the matter is that we don't usually get very excited about the opportunity to serve someone else.
Paul says in Philippians 2:5 to, "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus". And the "mind" or "attitude" that Paul tells the Philippian Christians to take on is the attitude of selflessness, humility, service. "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." (Philippians 2:3-4). The attitude a Christian should have is one that focuses on the needs and interests of others.
That's not something that comes naturally. When Christ came into this world, he brought into being a whole new approach to relationships with people. Listen to what he said to his disciples one day when they were arguing among themselves regarding who was to be greatest in his kingdom:
"You now that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave -- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:25-28).
Jesus said that in the Gentile world, in the world around us, there's very little humility. People operate basically out of selfish motives. They have little or no interest in helping others to reach their goals -- except when it might benefit themselves. The name of the game is to get power and authority and then to exercise that power and authority.
But that's not how Christians are supposed to act. And Christ did more than just teach us that truth. He lived it out as well. He demands nothing of us that he wasn't willing to demonstrate himself.
"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus."

Buddism and Christianity

Buddhism and Christianity arose independently of each other, separated as they were by almost 3,000 miles and at least 500 years.  In terms of religious belief systems they are even farther apart.  Many Buddhists, for instance, don't believe in a supreme being.  Christianity is based on such a belief.  The Buddha was careful to reject any efforts to label him a deity.  Christ claimed to be one with God.  The Buddha taught his followers to find the Middle Way between poles of opposites such as good and evil.  Christ encouraged his disciples to choose the good and reject the evil.

Unity

The racist doctrine claiming that whites are superior to all others is diametrically opposed to biblical Christianity. The Bible teaches that God created the world as a dazzlingly beautiful unity-in-diversity (Genesis 1). God values that diversity and makes clear that every human being – regardless of race – is created in the image and likeness of God (Genesis 1:27-28)."

Grace

Salvation is not based on whether you are a calvinist or arminian. Salvation is always by grace. I firmly believe there are calvinists who are not saved and arminians who are saved and vice versa.

Calvinism

A wake up call: Being friends with those whose beliefs differ from us is different from being one with them in theology. The more we know, the more we should be humble and friendly to those who oppose us. We hate false doctrines but we should try our best to win the hearts of those who teach heresies. Most Calvinists today are arrogant, and without concern for the lost souls. They don't practice what they preach. You will notice that when they comment on threads started by those who are still not knowledgeable of right doctrines. You can't expect unbelievers to believe what we say when we who claim to be believers fight each other. Augustine says in essentials unity in non essentials, liberty. But most calvinists cannot distinguish between essentials and non essentials. They love to debate even on minor issues (i.e. tithing) and destroy each other in the process. They are like children fighting over a piece of bread. They need to grow up like the Corinthian believers who are still living in the flesh.

False Doctrine

Prosperity Gospel teaches that if you just have enough faith, you will be healthy and rich. If this is true, then apostle Paul had no or had weak faith for he got sick and was not healed, did not become rich and was beheaded in the end by emperor Nero. Not only apostle Paul but the rest of the apostles have had no faith in God for they all died poor and suffered great distress and died brutal deaths.
Prosperity Gospel also teaches that if a Christian is still sick or poor even after sometime after his conversion, he may be hiding some unconfessed sins from God. This is a brutal doctrine for the genuine Christians who know deep inside that they are obeying God in the best way they can but still suffer from incurable sicknesses. The result of this teaching is doubting one's salvation and relationship with God.
Prosperity Gospel believers always blame Satan when they experience trials and hardships. They can't accept (and fight) the doctrine of God's absolute control of things, events and entities including Satan. They discourage mentioning of negative topics such as death (or preparation for it), bad experiences and of course sickness and poverty. They teach that the tongue has power (not God) to shape one's destiny and so they claim and name what they want making God a slave of their whims and wishes.
Prosperity Gospel is very attractive for people naturally want to live a good life free from sorrow and pain. But this view of the Gospel is in total opposition of Christ's teaching to His disciples, "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me" (Matthew 16:24). Jesus did not promise a "good life" to all who follow Him. Apostle Paul taught this principle to Timothy, "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" (2 Tim. 3:12).

Paul

During the biblical account of Paul’s first missionary journey, Luke writes: “Then Saul, who was also called Paul…” (Acts 13:9). From this point forward, Luke only refers to the apostle as “Paul.” This shift does not reflect a name change, as has often been said, but rather a conscious decision on Paul’s part to use a name he already had. Since Paul was a Roman citizen, he would have been given three names at birth. The third was Paul’s Latin name, Paullus. Paul’s Latin name was a better fit for the predominantly Roman environment. “Saul the Pharisee” chose to be known as “Paul, citizen of Rome.”

Christians and the Environment? (Creation Care)

Our president

I have lived through Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy,Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Obama. In my lifetime have I never seen or heard of a President being scrutinized over every word he speaks, humiliated by the public to the point of wanting to hurt someone, slander, ridicule, insulted, lied to, threatened to murder him, threatened to rape our Beautiful First Lady, and have his children also insulted and humiliated.
I am truly ashamed of the people of this country. I am ashamed of the ruthless, hating, cruel, Trump haters who have no morals, and news reporters who feel they have the right to purposely lie and do the things they are doing. Every other President after they were elected and took the oath of office were left alone, they weren’t on the news 24/7 being dissected by every word out of their mouth, ALWAYS BEING PRESSURED to do this or that and never being given the support to do the important work that needs to be done. ENOUGH is ENOUGH is ENOUGH, LEAVE THE MAN ALONE AND LET HIM DO HIS JOB FOR GOD’S SAKE!

Pride

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.
Why would pride bring disgrace? what is it about pride that could do that? Isn’t a little pride a good thing; don’t they say that you should have pride in what you do?
Maybe that is it, right there: Have pride in what you do.
There is more than one kind of pride, just as there is more than one kind of love. We can be prideful, or we can be proud of the way we do things, and these are quite different. To be proud of our work means that we are pleased to do our work the right way; with quality and integrity. To be prideful on the other hand, is not so good, for in that case, we believe that we are better than other people are, worth morethat we are more privileged, and all too often that the rules do not apply to us. An attitude like this leads a person to trouble.
This is the attitude that cuts corners, makes crooked deals and is willing to cheat others; why not if we are better than they are? This leads to disgrace sooner or later when we are found out.
Humility on the other hand, leads a person in a different direction, for a humble man or woman does not believe they are more worthy or superior to anyone else. They go about their business fairly, openly and with justice before God and Man, and that is wisdom itself.

Apostasy

"What is the apostasy? The Greek word apostasia in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 means “departure, falling away, defection, revolt.” This end times’ apostasy could be the mass “falling away” of people from God as they begin to follow the lawless one who claims to be God (verse 4). Another possibility is that the “apostasy” is the “departure” of the church from the world, that is, the rapture that Paul alludes to in verse 1 and which he had previously discussed in 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18. It could be that both events are implied in the word apostasia."
Is it possible that "apostasia" could really imply both the rebellion and the rapture?

Prophesy

There are many prophesy's about Jesus' death upon the cross who cries out to God from intense persecution. There are parallel's between Psalm 22 and the details written in the New Testament about Jesus' crucifixion. Psalms 22:7 talks about a man surrounded by people who despise and scorn him. That happened to Jesus in Matthew 27:30 and Mark 15:29. Psalm 22:16 talks of a man numbered with the transgresers when He was crucified between two criminals (Matthew 27:38;Mark 15:27;Luke 23:32 and ( John 19:18). Psalm 22:8 says "He trusts in the Lord: let the Lord rescue him. Let the Lord deliver him, since he delights in him". Matthew 27:43 Jesus' enemies taunted him when they said "He trusts in God, let God rescue him now if he wants him". Psalm 22:16 also speaks of a man whose hands and feet were disfigured. Jesus' hands and feet were disfigured during the crucifixion. Psalm 22:17 talks about a man who people stared and gloated at. In Matthew 27:36 and Luke 23:35 this describes Jesus. In Psalm 22:18 people gambled for pieces of his clothing. The same thing happened at Jesus' crucifixion (Matthew 27:35). There are other descriptions in Psalm 22 that accuratley describe a crucifixion, bones being disjointed (not broken), intense thirst, stregnth drying up and a heart that melts like wax.
There are other prophecies in (Zechariah 12:10),(Isaiah 53:12, 53:9).

Abraham

Abraham was around 75 when he left his home and family for God. During that time of wandering he endured times of famine, lots of worry and war.
Sarah must have felt worthless to him because in that culture she had failed to give Abraham a son which was the most important thing a wife could do for her husband.       Why then did God wait to give them a son? Because after the hardships they had faced for 25 years after leaving his home God could count on Abraham to teach his children in the ways of the Lord. Abraham's family was key and for the promises of God to happen it would take a great amount of patience and faith for a long time to come, not that God is slow to act, but because God had an enormous and far reaching plan.

Dracula

Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1897) is a horror classic that has inspired many other vampire stories, from Nosferatu (1922) to Twilight (2008-2010).
Dracula set the standard for what a vampire looks like and how it behaves in Western culture. The novel contains many religious overtones, as Dracula is repelled by communion wafers and crucifixes.
One of the most important aspects of a vampire is drawn directly from the Bible. Deuteronomy 12:23 says, “Only be sure not to eat the blood, for the blood is the life, and you shall not eat the life with the flesh.” Renfield, a character in a lunatic asylum eventually revealed to be under the sway of Dracula himself, quotes this verse directly. The Bible influences various literary genres, even horror novels.

Provide for the family

1 Timothy 5:8 says "But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel".
This means that anyone who does not provide for his own family, whether it be for his wife and children, or aged parents, has practically denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever. A man should make a point to know the needs of his family.
Proverbs 24:12 says " If thou sayestbehold we knew it not; doth not he that ponderth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works"?
This means that God searches the heart (not brain) and knows every thought of it, and every excuse the heart makes, God knows whether it is an excuse or not. Such excuses may be acceptable to man, but God knows the heart whether these excuses are legitimate or not.

Satan

It is a reality that we have an enemy that is prowling around like a lion who would like to harm us. We do not have to be fearful or paranoid about this, but it is helpful to be aware of his opposition. In this promise found in Isaiah, God makes the promise that no weapon that is formed against us by any enemy will prosper. He goes on to say that every tongue that judges us will be condemned.   It is encouraging to be reminded that God is on our side and He is fighting for us. No matter what or who opposes us, our Father promises to be with us through every storm and protect us by His great power. This is the heritage of the Lord. This is our birthright! ...To live under the protection of the Most High (Psalm 91).
I realize that this does not mean that we are completely insulated from trials in life. Jesus said in John 16:33 that as long as we are in this world, we will experience trouble. Praise God though that Jesus has overcome the world!   When I think of any opposing forces that are against me, whether they are earthly or demonic, I take great comfort in this promise from my Father... No weapon that has been created for my harm will succeed against me! That is my inheritance and it is your inheritance too!

Know Your Enemy (Part 13 - The Desert Years)

Christian

Christian: A person who has put his trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice to save him or her from the guilt and penalty (Hell) of sin. Romans 10:8-10, 13, "But what does it say? 'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation... For whoever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved."

Suicide

1 "Good people pass away; the godly often die before their time. But no one seems to care or wonder why. No one seems to understand that God is protecting them from the evil to come. 2 For those who follow godly paths will rest in peace when they die." Isaiah 1-2 I understand this to mean that people who are not in their right state of mind at that particular moment and commit suicide are protected by God.

Are you born again? Do you trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation? If you are, you have a secure, loving relationship with God. If you are not born again then you have no relationship with God ( John 14: 6).
You may not "feel" God's love because feelings come and go. There is a tendancy for people's hearts to grow cold and even the most devout Christian's can struggle with maintaining their love and service to God. The lack of feelings of love does not mean your relationship with God has ended. God never changes.
God is the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort ( 2 Corinthians 1:3). God loves you and desires to help during trying times like these.
Reflect on your walk with God so far. Consider past victories ( 1 Samuel 7:12) what God has brought you through.  Christian's will not feel comfy cozy all the time. Spend time praying and getting to know God more. To know Him is to love Him. Read the Bible. God's word is " truely a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" ( Psalm 119:105).
Seek Christian counseling especially if you are angry with God. It is difficult to feel love for someone when you are angry at them. Find a Godly mentor and spend time with them studying the Bible.
The church is called the body of Christ (Romans 12:5). There will be many opportunities to serve God there.

Commitment

Lifelong commitment is not what everyone thinks it is. It's not waking up early every morning to make breakfast and eat together. It's not cuddling in bed together at night until both of you peacefully fall asleep. It's not a clean home and a homemade meal every day.
It's someone who steals all the covers or snores like a chainsaw. It's sometimes not getting to wake up together everyday because of working away from home. It's sometimes slammed doors, and a few harsh words, disagreeing, and the silent treatment until your hearts heal. Then...forgiveness!
It's coming home to the same person everyday that you know loves and cares about you, in spite of and because of who you are. It's laughing about the one time you accidentally did something stupid. It's about dirty laundry and dirty dishes without finger pointing. It's about helping each other with the hard work of life! It's about swallowing the nagging words instead of saying them out loud.
It's about eating the cheapest and easiest meal you can make and sitting down together at 10 p.m. to eat because you both had a crazy day. It's when you have an emotional breakdown, and your love lays with you and holds you and tells you everything is going to be okay, and you believe them. It's about still loving someone even though sometimes they make you absolutely insane, angry, and hurt your feelings. This person loves you fat or thin, happy or grumpy, young or old.
Living with the person you love is not perfect, and sometimes it's hard, but it's amazing, comforting, and one of the best things you'll ever experience.
