Meditate on yhe Bible

Joshua 1:8, "This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night...". The command to "meditate" upon it means to make it the basis for daily and lifelong decisions. When we spend time in God's Word daily then we will grow in our relationship with God and be stronger in our faith. We will hear the way of God and be less likely to follow the way of Satan. When we neglect time in God's Word, prayer, and worship we are at greater risk of drifting away from God and falling back into sin and the bondage of sin. When we follow the way of God we are more likely to make wise decisions and receive the blessings of God.

The church at Corinth

The church in Corinth was seemingly putting more emphasis on the gift of tongues that the other gifts. In addition, they were exercising this gift without interpretation. Paul tries to correct this abuse by pointing out that speaking in tongues is of no value to the congregation as a whole unless the gift is accompanied by interpretation in public services. So in 1st Cor. 14, Paul is emphasizing that in a worship service, speaking in tongues and prophesying must be regulated and used in a proper manner so that order is maintained in the church.

Pure in heart

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God ( Matt. 5:8).                                                                                                                      The expression : pure heart" refers to someone whose innermost thoughts, motivation, and purpose are pure, clean, wholesome and good; this is the one who will see God. To see God is to believe in God, and even more basic, they believe God; such people are truly blessed.                                                                                                                                                                                                                    The person not true in heart will not see God, possibly because they would rather not see Him. Their inner motivations are not wholesome or good, but more likely centered on self, gain and getting what they want at whatever the cost; they are not blessed because there is little room for Him in their lives.

Empathic vs. Psychic: Can we learn to read minds?

Empathic vs. Psychic: Can we learn to read minds?: The thought that we could read someone else's mind is tantalizing. But there are myriad reasons God didn't give us that ability. He does, however, ask us to be empathic.

Anima Sola

Known as the GodmotherAnimasolathe beginning of all thingscreated heaven and earth and allowed God the father to posses it before He created everything. I guess this means she created heaven and earth and then let God take over. They believe she is the supreme Holy Spirit who appeared in heaven, glorified the virgin Mary and gave birth to the Son of the kingdom of Heaven. They believe the morals of man originate from the wisdom of Animasola This church worships somewhat like the Catholics do. They worship folk saints though
Folk saints are saints not canonized by the church.

Culture

Commenter: "I've been listening to the "our culture is crumbling all around us" fear since 1967 when my dad walked in on my watching some clip of Jimi Hendrix setting his guitar on fire. The fear gets trotted out regularly each decade following some culture shift or another. Whether one agrees with this Court decision or not, it won't change the things in the world that truly keep me up at night in prayer."
Response: "Well since that moment, 50 million children have been legally slaughtered, the divorce rate has skyrocketed, fatherless homes have become endemic, religious affiliation has dropped precipitously, secularism has taken over, pornography became a billion dollar industry, the distinction between male and female has been obliterated, drug use, depression, and sexual diseases have all become epidemics, and now marriage has been changed to accommodate homosexuals. But, yeah, all those people were totally overreacting. Everything is fine. You're right." -- Matt Walsh

Mendelssohn's 5th symphony

The Augsburg Confession of 1530 defined the theological beliefs of Martin Luther, becoming one of the most important documents of the Protestant Reformation. And 300 years later, on the anniversary of that historic document, Felix Mendelssohn celebrated this Reformation milestone in what became known as “Mendelssohn’s “Fifth Symphony," a symphony inspired by Martin Luther’s famed Reformation hymn, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” The powerful symphonic presentation, including a finale with the entire orchestra, underscores the unmistakable “Mighty” of Luther’s hymn! Mendelssohn’s Fifth Symphony wasn’t published until 1868, years after his death. Although the symphony is not played often today, it shows the enduring legacy of Martin Luther’s iconic hymn based on Psalm 46: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble!”

Mind and words

Words can have a negative effect on your mind. What is in your mind is in your heart. Some of Jesus' strongest words were directed at outwardly rightous people but corrupt in their thought's (Matthew 23:27). Behind everything we do is a thought whether for good or for evil. You may not even be aware at the time but we never act unless we thought about it Out of our hearts come evil thoughts (Matthew 15:19).
The way to safeguard your mind is to avoid anything that fills your mind with evil thoughts. Fill your mind with good things through prayer and reading the Bible.
Begin by committing your life ( this includes the mind) to Jesus so He can teach you more about Himself. That way Jesus will become the focus of your mind and heart everyday.

Spiritualism

Spiritualists do not believe in Heaven or Hell (Matthew 10:28; 25:46) nor do they believe in evil spirits (Mark 5:8 and Matthew 12:43).They don't believe in salvation by faith in Christ either (Ephesians 2:8-9). They believe human life continues after death, where everyone has the opportunity to progress to better and higher and grow more spiritually. These conditions are open to everyone. This is an attempt to combine Christianity with the occult practices.

Jesus

Jesus left Heaven to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus gave up Heaven for us. He didn't have to, but He loved us so much that He gave up everything so that we could go where He was. What would we give up for Him? Would we get up on Sunday morning to go to Sunday School and the worship service to learn more about Him and thank Him for what He did for us? Would we? Jesus told about the 10 people with leprosy that He healed, but only one stopped to thank Him. That's 90%. Ninety percent didn't stop to say thanks for what He gave up and did for them. I wonder if Jesus had second thoughts about leaving Heaven for those ungrateful people. Two hours of our time each week to say thanks. Does only 10% of the people today, stop to say thanks, for what Jesus gave up, for our sins?

REVELATION ~ CHARLES LAWSON..POWERFUL!!

Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch painter in the mid nineteenth century. He is one of the most prominent artists in history. He cut off one of his ears while in a depression that plagued him his entire life. Some think that it was the result of his early years as a preacher among impoverished miners. He was a  religious man, he was also "a great admirer of the Bible."
According to scholar Judy Sund, Van Gogh  used Biblical eaf"motifs in most of his work, and he was "especially drawn to the parables" as reflected in his painting of " The Sower and the Sheaf" found in the gospels of Matthew and Mark. Sund also notes that Van Gogh saw parallels between his paintings and the parables-both used everyday context to communicate meaning.
