My name is Jakki Young and listed on the 1910 census is Benjamin Young and Susan Young. They were my GGG Grandparents. My Grandfather John Young, was born in Erwin in 1913. He was 5 years old when the Expulsion happened!! It wasn't until recent years, after he passed away, that we learned about the Expulsion on 1918. I would be very interested in learning more!!
I don't know much about it except the stories I heard as a kid. The only other thing I know is the general area where they lived. I only know that because I had a paper route when Iwas a kid and some of the people there told me where they thought the black community was. It was supposedly on the north end of town.
