Ten Commandments
The first commandment in Exodus 20:3 and Deuteronomy 5:7 states that "we shall have no other gods before me." In the new testament when Jesus was tempted by Satan in Matthew 4:10; Luke 4:8 Jesus told Satan "You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve. In Revelation 14:7 an angel flying in the midst of heaven telling everyone to worship God. This being at the time of final judgment. The second commandment Exodus 20:4; Deuteronomy 5:8-10 tells us we are not to make any carved images to bow down to them. Acts 15:20;1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-20; Ephesians 5:5 all mention this. The third commandment mentioned in Exodus 20;7 and Deuteronomy 5:8-10 tells us we are not to take the Lord's name in vain. It is mentioned in Matthew 5:33-37;1 Timothy 6:11 and James 2:7. The fourth commandment in Exodus 20:8-11 and Deuteronomy 5:12-15 tells us to remember the Sabbath and keep it Holy. This is mentioned in Luke 4:16; 23:55-56; Acts 17:1-2; 18:4; Hebrews 4:9; 1 John 2:6. The fifth commandment (Exodus 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:16) tells us to honor our father and mother can be found in Matthew 15:4-9;19:19; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Romans 1:29-30; Ephesians 6:1-3. The sixth commandment "thou shalt, not murder"(Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17) can be found in Matthew 5:21-22; 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Romans 1:29- 30; 13:9. The seventh commandment tells us not to commit adultery ( Exodus 20:14; Deuteronomy 5:18). This can be found in Matthew 5:27-28; 19:18; Mark 10:11-12, 19; Luke16:18; 18:20; Romans 7:2-3. The eighth commandment tells us not to steal (Exodus 20:15; Deuteronomy 5:19). This can be found in Matthew 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke18:20; Ephesians 4:28; 1 Peter 4:15; and Revelation 9:21. The ninth commandment tells us not to bear false witness against our neighbor (Exodus 20:16; Deuteronomy 5:20). It is in Matthew 19:18; Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; Acts 5: 3-4; Romans 13:9; Ephesians 4:25. The tenth commandment tells us not to covet anything that belongs to our neighbor (Exodus 20:17; Deuteronomy 5:21). This can be found in Luke 12:15; Romans 1:29; 7:7; 13:9; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galatians 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3,5.
